Senior class of ‘12.

Forgetting them won’t be in any way as quick as getting to know them.

10knotes:

This fox is just continually unimpressed with everything you have to offer.

what is the evolutionary perk to having a face like that god damn

Bigger predators leave you alone because they can’t stand the mockery and non-verbal put-downs

Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
with the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wilder seas
Where storms will show Your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask you to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push back the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.

All of us want to finish well. But so many of us do not. Why? Because we too easily cherish our roles in the Great Wedding more than the wedding itself. Which is why John the Baptist must become our mentor.

…..

We must remember that our role is not our reward. Jesus is our reward. Roles will begin and they will end. And the only way for us to end well is if in our heart Jesus has increased and we have decreased.

What rises in your heart at the thought of Jesus giving another a more prominent role in his wedding? How much do you long to have a more prominent one? How well are you prepared to end the role he has given you? What if he gives your role to someone else?

The wedding is not about us. It’s about him. And we never want to compete with the Bridegroom for the bride’s attention and affection.

I miss my class

No matter how much I hated Cornell this semester due to academics, coming back home and being done with sophomore year has unveiled my eyes from the stress. It has allowed me to appreciate my church community and especially my class.

I miss all of them a lot.

It has also made me realize how horrible a brother I was this semester.  I realized it the last day of school.  I felt compelled to check on a brother of mine and it hit me how it was the first time that whole semester.  I had been so focused on my own troubles - worldy troubles - such as grades and such that I forgot to check on how everyone else in my class was doing.

Our class had been encouraging me everyday and yet I could not do the same.  Really just want to apologize both to my class and beg for forgiveness for wallowing in my own sorrows and not seeking Him daily.
